WHO WE ARE

We are a group of young Sudanese men and women from diverse academic backgrounds, who have felt a deep sense of national and social responsibility in the midst of the civil war that broke out on April 15, 2023. The war has left behind devastating humanitarian consequences that demand an organized response capable of addressing the scale of the catastrophe and preparing for the post-conflict reconstruction phase.
We believe that civil society constitutes a vital space for realizing our shared aspirations, and those of future generations, as it provides a framework that ensures freedom of initiative and collective action, free from the polarizations of power and conflict. We view the fragility of civil society as one of the structural drivers of civil strife in Sudan, alongside state dysfunction and the failure of balanced development projects.
From this perspective, we see the strengthening of civil society—through coordinated efforts and the development of strategic partnerships—as a viable path toward overcoming Sudan’s state crises. Through the United Civil Organization for Training and Development, we aim to build a platform capable of attracting support, providing training and capacity building, and fostering community initiatives in a way that meets the demands of the current stage and lays solid foundations for a sustainable national future.
